Terms of Service

Terms governing the use of CiudadanoUSA across the mobile app, website, and related features.

Last updated: May 13, 2026.

These Terms of Service govern your use of CiudadanoUSA, including the mobile app, website, and related features. By using the service, you agree to these terms. For billing and subscription disclosures in the Apple App Store, Google Play Store, and other official storefronts we support—including each store’s checkout flow—these Terms also serve as our Terms of Use (EULA) for CiudadanoUSA.

1. What CiudadanoUSA is

CiudadanoUSA is an educational product built to support U.S. citizenship study. It may include civics practice, N-400 rehearsal, English reading and writing, mock interview flows, progress tracking, USCIS news, and official resources.

CiudadanoUSA provides educational tools. It does not offer legal advice, immigration representation, or any guarantee of outcomes before USCIS or other government agencies.

You should always confirm critical information with official sources and, when you need advice for your specific case, consult an immigration attorney or accredited representative.

3. Eligibility and permitted use

You may use the service only for lawful personal use, or for internal educational support within an authorized household or team.

You agree not to:

  • Use the service fraudulently or unlawfully
  • Attempt unauthorized access to accounts, systems, or data
  • Interfere with the operation of the product
  • Copy, resell, distribute, or exploit the service without permission
  • Circumvent technical, subscription, or access limits
  • Use the content to build unauthorized competing services

4. Accounts

If you create an account:

  • You are responsible for keeping your credentials confidential
  • You must provide reasonably accurate information
  • You are responsible for activity under your account

We may suspend or close accounts that violate these terms or create risk for other users or the service.

5. Subscriptions, payments, and Premium features

CiudadanoUSA may offer free features and Premium features through auto-renewing subscriptions, other subscriptions, or one-time purchases depending on platform and launch stage.

What you see at purchase. For every auto-renewing subscription offered in the CiudadanoUSA app, policies from the Apple App Store, Google Play Store, and any other official storefront we distribute through typically require that the official product title, subscription duration (for example weekly, monthly, or annual billing period), and current price (and price per unit when pricing is quoted per week, month, or year, as presented in that storefront) appear before you confirm payment. The price you confirm in that storefront is authoritative; localized pricing may differ by region, tax, promotions, trials, introductory offers, currency, and storefront rounding.

If you subscribe or buy a subscription or digital product:

  • Charges post to the account tied to where you bought—for example your Apple ID on the Apple App Store or your Google account on the Google Play Store (or another authorized storefront account)—according to that storefront’s renewal and billing timing
  • Unless you cancel or turn off auto-renew following the instructions below at least twenty-four (24) hours before the current period ends, most auto-renewing subscriptions automatically renew for the same duration unless the store states otherwise at purchase
  • If a free trial or introductory offer applies, converting to paid (or renewing at full price afterward) follows the disclosures shown by the store before confirmation—typically you must cancel from your account subscriptions before conversion if you do not want to continue
  • Some features may vary by platform, app version, or technical availability

How to cancel or manage. You must manage or cancel subscriptions in the same storefront where you subscribed—for example:

  • Apple App Store: Settings → [Your Name] → Subscriptions on your Apple device, or the equivalent path for your platform (Apple subscriptions support).
  • Google Play Store: Payments & subscriptions (or the equivalent) in the Play Store app on your device or on the web (Google Play subscriptions help).

We do not process or bypass subscription controls run by Apple, Google, or other storefront operators. Deleting the app alone does not cancel recurring billing unless you cancel in the storefront.

Unless applicable law requires otherwise, refunds and returns follow the Apple App Store, Google Play Store, or the relevant payment processor’s policies.

When you install from the Apple App Store, Google Play Store, or another supported marketplace, that operator’s storefront terms also apply between you and them for installation, billing, device rules, and subscription management. Alongside these Terms, our Privacy Policy describes how we handle personal information.

6. Additional Apple App Store terms

If you download CiudadanoUSA through the Apple App Store, you and CiudadanoUSA acknowledge that these Terms are between you and CiudadanoUSA, not Apple. Apple is not responsible for the app, its content, maintenance, support, warranties, product claims, intellectual-property claims, or legal compliance, except to the extent Apple’s own terms or applicable law require otherwise.

CiudadanoUSA, not Apple, is responsible for addressing support requests and claims related to the app or your possession and use of the app, including product-liability claims, regulatory claims, consumer-protection claims, or claims that the app infringes a third party’s intellectual-property rights. Apple and Apple’s subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms for App Store downloads and may enforce these Terms against you as third-party beneficiaries.

7. Content, availability, and product changes

We may update, improve, limit, pause, or remove parts of the service at any time. This includes changes to design, content, features, compatibility, providers, or regional availability.

While we aim to keep educational information useful and clear, we do not promise that all content will always be complete, error-free, or continuously available.

8. Intellectual property and software license

The mobile app is licensed to you, not sold. Unless stated otherwise, CiudadanoUSA and its licensors retain all rights to:

  • The brand, name, and logos
  • The product design
  • Original app and website content
  • Software, structure, text, illustrations, and proprietary materials

Using the service does not transfer ownership to you. You receive only a limited, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to install and use the app and website for your personal use in line with these terms and with the usage rules of the storefront from which you obtain the app (for example, Apple App Store or Google Play Store rules, as applicable). You may not resell, redistribute, or sublicense the app except as expressly allowed by law or by that storefront.

The product may link to third-party services such as USCIS, USA.gov, the Apple App Store, Google Play Store, authentication providers, or infrastructure tools. We do not control those services and are not responsible for their content, policies, or availability.

10. Disclaimer of warranties

To the maximum extent allowed by law, the service is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or uninterrupted availability.

11. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent allowed by law, CiudadanoUSA and its affiliates, collaborators, and providers will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for loss of data, revenue, opportunity, or reputation arising from use of or inability to use the service.

If applicable law limits this exclusion, our liability will be limited to the maximum extent permitted by that law.

12. Termination

We may suspend or terminate access to the service if:

  • You violate these terms
  • You use the service in a risky, abusive, or unlawful way
  • Technical, legal, or security reasons require it

You may stop using the service at any time. Termination does not automatically remove prior obligations or provisions that should survive by their nature.

13. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms to reflect changes in the product, business model, or legal requirements. The latest version will be posted on this page with a new update date. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated terms.

14. Export compliance and sanctions

You may not use or export or re-export the app except as authorized by United States law and the laws of the jurisdiction where you obtained it. Without limitation, you represent that you are not located in a U.S.-embargoed country, are not identified on restricted party lists administered by any U.S. agency, and will not use the app for any purposes prohibited by U.S. law, including, without limitation, activities related to nuclear, chemical or biological weapons, or missiles.

15. Governing law and dispute resolution

Nothing in these terms limits mandatory consumer rights that apply where you live (for example, in the European Union, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway, Switzerland, or the United Kingdom).

Otherwise, except where mandatory local law overrides this choice of law, these terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. You consent to personal jurisdiction in the state and federal courts located in Delaware for disputes that are not subject to mandatory consumer-court rules. The United Nations Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods does not apply.

16. U.S. Government end users

To the extent required under applicable U.S. law, the app and related documentation are “commercial items” as defined at 48 C.F.R. section 2.101, comprising “commercial computer software” and “commercial computer software documentation” as referenced in those regulations. Where required under 48 C.F.R. section 12.212 or sections 227.7202-1 through 227.7202-4 (as applicable), U.S. Government end users receive the same restricted rights granted to everyone else under these terms. Unpublished-rights reserved under the copyright laws of the United States.
