How CiudadanoUSA collects, uses, shares, and protects information when you use the app and website.

CiudadanoUSA provides educational tools to support U.S. citizenship study. This Privacy Policy explains what information we may collect when you use the mobile app, website, and related services, how we use it, and what choices you have.
This policy is published in both Spanish and English to make it easier to read. If wording differs between the two versions, we will apply the interpretation that best matches this policy, applicable law, and the real operation of the service.
Scope
This policy applies to:
- The CiudadanoUSA mobile app
- The

It does not apply to third-party sites such as the App Store, Google Play, USCIS, USA.gov, or other external links. Those services have their own privacy policies.
Information we may collect
1. Account and identity information
When you create an account or sign in, we may receive information such as:
- Name
- Email address
- Profile photo, if shared by the sign-in provider
- Technical account identifiers needed for authentication
At this time, account-related authentication and storage may rely on providers such as Supabase and third-party sign-in services.
2. Usage and study-progress information
To provide study features, the app may store or sync information such as:
- Language, theme, and test-version preferences
- Interview date, goals, and reminder settings
- Mastered questions, session history, streaks, and topic progress
- Interactions with civics study, N-400 rehearsal, reading and writing practice, mock interview, and official-resource features
Some of this information may stay locally on your device, and some may be synced with backend services when you use an account.
3. Purchases and subscriptions
If you purchase Premium access or restore purchases, we may receive limited subscription-status information. Billing is processed by the relevant app store and, where applicable, subscription-management providers such as RevenueCat.
We do not store full payment card numbers in our own systems.
4. Support and communications
If you contact us by email or other support channels, we may keep:
- Your message
- Your email address
- Attachments or screenshots you share
- Information needed to resolve the issue
5. Technical and diagnostic information
To keep the service working, we may collect technical information such as:
- Device type, operating system, and app version
- Basic browser data when you use the website
- Error logs, crashes, and diagnostics
When enabled, providers such as Sentry may help us detect errors and improve stability.
6. Product analytics
At this time, the website does not use Amplitude. If we later enable analytics tools to understand product or website usage, we will update this policy before or at the time of that change.
How we use information
We may use the information described above to:
- Create and maintain your account
- Authenticate access
- Save progress, preferences, and study features
- Show relevant content and resources
- Manage purchases, subscriptions, or restorations when applicable
- Respond to support and troubleshoot issues
- Detect errors, abuse, or misuse
- Comply with legal obligations and protect our rights
We do not sell your personal information.
Sharing with service providers
We may share information with providers that help us operate the service, for example:
- Infrastructure, authentication, and database providers
- Error-monitoring and stability providers
- Subscription-management providers
- Storage or content-delivery providers
We share only what is reasonably necessary for those providers to perform services for CiudadanoUSA.
External links and official resources
The app and website may link to USCIS, USA.gov, the App Store, Google Play, and other third-party services. Once you leave our services, data handling is governed by that third party’s policies.
Data retention
We keep information for as long as reasonably necessary to:
- Operate accounts and product features
- Maintain progress history where the service requires it
- Resolve disputes or support requests
- Comply with legal, tax, or regulatory obligations
When information is no longer needed, we will try to delete or anonymize it as appropriate.
Your choices and rights
Depending on your location, you may have rights to request:
- Access to your information
- Correction of inaccurate data
- Deletion of your account or certain data
- Additional information about how your data is handled

Security
We take reasonable measures to protect information, but no system is completely immune from risk. We also encourage you to use strong passwords, protect your device, and sign out when appropriate.
Children’s privacy
CiudadanoUSA is not directed to children under 13. If you believe a child shared personal information with us without appropriate authorization, contact us so we can review it.
International transfers and processing location
Your data may be processed in countries other than your own depending on the infrastructure and providers we use. When that happens, we aim to use reasonable safeguards consistent with applicable law.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy to reflect changes in the product, providers, or legal requirements. The current version will be posted on this page with a new update date.
