How to request deletion of your CiudadanoUSA account and associated app data.

This page explains how to delete your CiudadanoUSA account and data we control. CiudadanoUSA is an educational app and website for U.S. citizenship study. For more on how we handle personal data, see our Privacy Policy.

How to request account deletion

You can use either method below. Both are subject to the same general handling described on this page.

In the mobile app (signed in)

Open the CiudadanoUSA app, go to Settings, then Delete account, and follow the on-screen steps to confirm. You must be signed in to the account you want to delete.

By email

Use this option if you cannot access the app, or if you need help with your account. Email [email protected] from the email address associated with your CiudadanoUSA account.

Use the subject line: Delete my CiudadanoUSA account.

In your message, include:

  • The email address used for your CiudadanoUSA account
  • A short statement that you want your account deleted

Do not send your password, payment card details, government ID, immigration documents, or other sensitive documents unless we specifically request information needed to verify the account.

What happens next

If you use the in-app flow, we process the request for the account you are signed in to. If you contact us by email, we may reply to confirm the request or verify that you control the account before we process it. Once any required verification is complete, we will delete or anonymize account data that CiudadanoUSA controls.

We normally remove active account records within 30 days after a completed in-app deletion or a verified email request. Backup copies, security logs, and similar operational records may take up to 90 days to expire from our systems, unless a longer retention period is required for legal, tax, fraud-prevention, security, dispute-resolution, or compliance reasons.

Data we delete

When deletion is completed, we delete or anonymize data such as:

  • Your CiudadanoUSA account profile and authentication record, where controlled by us
  • Synced study progress, mastered questions, streaks, session history, goals, reminders, and interview dates
  • N-400 rehearsal history and other app preferences
  • App-specific records used to provide account features
  • Support messages when they are no longer needed for legal, security, or dispute-resolution reasons

If some study information exists only on your device and has not synced to our backend, removing the app or clearing local app data may also be needed to remove that local copy.

Data we may keep

Some information may be kept when reasonably necessary, including:

  • Purchase, subscription, receipt, refund, and entitlement records required by Google Play, the App Store, RevenueCat, tax rules, accounting rules, or dispute-resolution processes
  • Security, abuse-prevention, and fraud-prevention logs
  • Support records needed to resolve an open issue or document a completed request
  • Data we are legally required to keep
  • Aggregated or anonymized information that no longer identifies you

CiudadanoUSA does not store full payment card numbers in its own systems. App-store purchases are handled by the relevant store and its authorized providers.
